This real estate attorney is suing her former husband for $4.4 million after they divorced, claiming he “neglected” to pay for her disability benefits.
The former lawyer, who also happens to be married to another lawyer, sued her husband last year, saying he neglected to pay her disability payments for her medical expenses.
According to the complaint, the former husband claimed that she had an eye condition and was unable to work because of it.
In fact, she was able to work with limited supervision and a wheelchair.
The case was filed on behalf of the former wife’s mother, who is the mother of her child.
The complaint, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, lists five different expenses: $9,600 for an eye exam and $2,300 for the cost of a prescription for a medication she says is not prescribed for her condition.
The mother has filed a countersuit in Los Alamitos Superior Court saying that her daughter has a rare genetic condition and that the alleged payments for disability were made in violation of the California Disability Law.
The father, who the complaint says is the father of the child, has also filed a counterclaim in Los Altos Superior, saying that the former lawyer failed to adequately address his daughter’s disability.
The alleged payments were made to the former family attorney, who has filed for divorce.
The judge has yet to rule on the countersuit.
