A car accident law firm is trying to stop a judge from ordering it to pay a car accident attorney more than $50,000 for a car crash that happened three years ago.
The Los Angeles Times reported on Thursday that attorneys at the law firm of Ritter & Buss have filed a lawsuit alleging that the Los Angeles County Superior Court has improperly used the terms “accident” and “lawsuit” to describe the wrongful death of Roberta Pinto, a 38-year-old woman who was killed in an SUV crash in 2015.
The LA Times said that Ritter has hired a lawyer, David Ritter, to represent the company.
Ritter was not immediately available for comment.
The case comes after the Los Feliz County district attorney said that the car accident lawsuit would be dismissed.
Pinto’s family said that after her death, Ritter filed suit to recover money he had lost.
Pintos death has been widely covered, and some critics have argued that the accident lawyers’ negligence was due to their inexperience.
